Lorraine has been drawing for as long as she can remember. Her father was a graphic designer in the film industry but it was my mother, a gifted amateur artist, who taught her how to draw.
Growing up in Clovelly, Lorraine’s first inspiration was the ocean and seashore. She moved to the Blue Mountains 25 years ago, where she developed her passion for illustrating native plants she observed in the bush around her home.
Lorraine’s process is to capture her observations in initial pencil drawings, which are then carefully enhanced to bring out the delicate, intricate shapes, lines and patterns. These final hand-drawn pen illustrations are coloured on her computer to create the unique designs for her cards and art prints.
